The country’s largest tray of fruit and cereals was displayed in front of the Temple of Literature in Cao Lanh City in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap from the first to the third day of the Lunar New Year (February 14 to 16). 

On January 23, the Vietnam Craft Village Association presented certificates of merit and conferred ”Craft Village 2009” title on six outstanding craft villages, nine businesses, 29 artisans and six products that represent the nation’s culture

German press highlights preparations for Hanoi’s millennium

The Department of Hotel under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) is preparing a program to give the tag Sustainable Brand to hotels that meet criteria on friendly environment and sustainable tourism development.
Nine stories of the lives, dreams and struggles of people living in the three Mekong River sub-regional countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are now spotlighted at an exhibition in Hanoi. “Mekong’s story: Challenge and dream, ” a mobile exhibition that opened at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology on November 25 aims to enhance intangible values and reflect the challenges the nations are facing in ensuring balance between preservation of cultural identities and development.
The central coast city of Danang will contribute US$50, 000 to Vietnam Airlines to organize road shows in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan this September to bring the country’s tourism products and services to Japanese travelers.

The road shows will take place on the occasion of the JATA World Tourism Congress and Travel Fair in Japan.
A ceremony to welcome these guests was organised by Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Vietnam Airlines, opening activities in response to the National Tourism Year 2010 in Hanoi
The troupe will bring music, dancing and a circus that won the gold medal at the 6th International Circus Festival in France to Vietnamese audiences.

The Chinese artists will also sing a number of popular Vietnamese songs.
